UMS Membership Requirements

 

The United Medical Education Consortium (UMEC) Medical Society (UMS) welcomes all healthcare professionals to its membership in order to promote efficient healthcare and education in society.  Thus to become a member you should have the following qualities:

 

  • Show that you have some knowledge of health care issues or possess qualification in a healthcare subject or discipline

 

  • Been working in health care profession as an employee or volunteer for up to one year.

 

Scope of UMS membership 

 

Membership of the UMS is open to all people connected to the healthcare sectors in various capacities and includes:

Types of UMS Membership and Fees

 

The Society has five categories of membership for which a fee is payable once a year starting from the anniversary of the date when your membership started.  Please see the table below for details.

UMS MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS

Being a member of the UMS comes with a variety of benefits, which include:

 

  • Receipt of free copies of two major international and official journals of the UMS:  Innovations in Health Professions Education and Medical Practice,  and Medical Law and Ethics Journal.
  • Reduced rates on fees for all the International Scientific Conferences, Courses and Meetings of the UMS annually
  • Reduced rates for the purchase of al books and publications of the UMS
  • The right to vote and take parts in the various activities of the Society, including voting at elections of officers, council or committees members
  • Participation in various activities of the UMS, including national and international projects.
  • Opportunities to apply for grants and Scholarships.

Membership Application Information

 

If you would like to be a member of the Society, request for the Membership Form to complete and send to us by contacting us at  info@umec.org.uk

 

You can also pay your membership via the online payment facility, please contact us at info@umec.org.uk to send you an electronic invoice for you to use in making card payment via online service.

 

Please note that there is a special reduced rate for certain healthcare professionals from some countries in Africa.  For more details, please contact: info@umec.org.uk

Please note that after receipt of the completed application form, payment invoice for membership fee will be sent to you.  After receipt of the payment, your application will be processed.
